Last Week

We have finished our Fun World sessions for this term so trip uniform will not be needed on Thursday. Children should wear formal uniform all week. Thanks.

Easter Egg Painting Competition

This a reminder about the Easter Egg Painting Competition. Children should bring their egg to school on Monday. Photos of the egg entries will be posted on the blog.

Easter Service

This is a reminder that our Easter service is on Thursday 1st April at 1.00pm in Struthers Memorial Church, West Stewart Street. You are invited to attend and take your children home at the end of the service. If you are unable to attend please arrange for your child to be collected from the church.

It would be helpful if children could leave school bags at home on the last day and bring packed lunches to school in plastic bags which can be binned before going to the service.

Easter Service

Our Easter service is on Thursday 1st April at 1.00pm in Struthers Memorial Church on West Stewart Street. You are invited to come to the service and children can be taken home for the holidays when it finishes. I look forward to seeing you there.

ice skating

We have one more ice skating lesson next week. Everyone has been trying really hard when they are on the ice. It has been great fun and I'm sure we're looking forward to next years ice skating block already!

Easter Egg Painting Competition

Miss Black and Miss Speirs would like to invite all primary pupils to take part in an Easter Egg painting competition.

When: Eggs must be brought to school on Monday 29th of March and not before.

Who: All primary pupils can enter one egg each.

What: Eggs can be painted/coloured or decorated with craft materials. It can either be a character or a pattern.

All eggs must be hard boiled.

Eggs will be judged anonymously in class groups by primary teachers.

Lifeboats

We are raising money in school for RNLI this week. Mrs Mole has the ship money box and stickers for those who make a donation. Children will be given an opportunity to put money in the boat every day.

Ball Skills

We enjoyed our 'ball skills' session today at Fun World. We will be developing our skills in this area in the coming weeks.

Story Writing

We have been writing some super stories in P1. The children worked in groups to come up with a short story about the weather. They made up a character for the story and had to describe what the character was like. They also had to think about what happened first, next and at the end. I will be sending these home for you to have a little look at. Please send the story back into school with your child so that it can be passed on to someone else in the group. Thanks.

Gladiators

Unfortunately we did not have a visit from the 'Gladiators' today as they brought the wrong equipment. Everyone coped very well with the disappointment.
